Central Tongu launched 2021 population and Housing Census on the 28th May 2021 . The District Coordinating Director Mr Ruben Akufo encouraged members of the District Assembly, chiefs, opinion leaders , market representative of women association and the clergy to help spread the news about the upcoming population and housing census.
The District Census officer for Central Tongu Mr Courage Godzo, says from the 13th to the 30th June , members of the District should expect an enumerator visit their homes to collect information on all persons who slept in their houses on the night of June. "Ensure that an adult member is available to answer questions on behalf of other household members.
Census night is the reference time for all questions to be asked during enumeration " the District Census officer said . The District chief executive Hon. Thomas Moore Zonyrah acknowledged the effort of the District Census implementation committee for doing a good job in the screening of the overwhelming applicants who availed themselves for consideration as field workers.
He asked for a successful training programme to equip the enumerators with the requisite knowledge and skills to undertake the Data exercise. He also asked that enumerators be professional and confidential as possible so that people don't go hearing their information in town . The programme ended with a colourful launching.
