The Central Tongue District Health Directorate held a meeting with selected stakeholders to commence sensitisation activities towards the mass distribution of Insecticide treated mosquito nets
The District Health Director stated that there was the need to clarify and disabuse the false rumors linked to the exercise and asked those present to help disseminate information about the upcoming exercise.
The exercise would be in two main phases which are: 1. Registration or persons:- 22nd - 28th October, 2021 2. Distribution of nets:- 8th - 14th November, 2021. Those unable to be registered and those who are not around when the distribution is carried out would automatically lose the chance to get the net. A household could only receive a maximum of 5 nets per the allocation rules.
All should endeavour to get registered and be available to receive their treated nets to help curb the incidence of malaria infection cases. The stakeholder were also advised to ensure the nets used after being aired in a shady areas for about 8 hours and encourage all and sundry to not use the nets for unapproved purposes.
