The misunderstanding that took place at Bakpa Kebenu between its citizens and the Bluesea Island Company Limited came to the attention of the District Chief Executive and he invited them for a meeting. The meeting was held at the New Assembly hall and was chaired by the DCE.
The District Chief Executive welcomed the people and briefed the people about their coming. He narrated the processes Bluesea Island Company Limited took in securing for themselves permit but their processes haven't gone through yet. The DCE caution the company why their permit issues have not gone through but decided to destroy crops belonging to the indigence without the approval from the Assembly. He further expressed his misgiving about the situation but appealed to the affected farmers to restrain any adverse reactions.
The Hon. District Chief Executive said farmers on the said land would be fairly treated therefore individuals should comply with any agreement/suggestions that would be done by the Bakpa Kebenu Chiefs/Landowners, Assembly/Reps and Blue Sea Island Company.
